Radiant Seoul is a theoretical investigation divided into three acts, illuminating the afterbirth of the modern city and the transformation of Seoul’s architectural landscape, influenced by the evolution of the Korean apartment complexes.

In the aftermath of the Korean War, the division created by the 2.5-mile-wide demilitarised zone fractures the Korean Peninsula. The schism creates a distinct world where Seoul sets the stage for a military-led urbanisation.

The ambitious vision for a modern metropolis initially rooted in social housing projects, only to witness their gradual transition into the private realm. The city scape was acquired by the private sector and gave birth to a new architectural species. Apartment complexes undergo a metamorphosis in the wake of deregulation and acceleration to a point where deconstruction embodies preservation.
